About Khabarovsk
Khabarovsk, a city of more than 600,000, is second only to Vladivostok in size in the Russian Far East.
Khabarovsk is is the capital of the Khabarovsk Territory. It is located at the confluence of the Amur and Ussuri rivers, some 30 km from the Chinese border.
Khabarovsk was founded in 1852 as a military outpost. It is located on the Amur River about 800 km (500 mi) north of Vladivostok and is accessible from there by an overnight train running along the Trans-Siberian railway; rail distance from Moscow is 8523 km.
